The client
The Glow Group is based in Lincoln and operates across boiler installations, servicing, repairs, and air-source heat pump installations – positioning itself as “Lincolnshire’s highest-rated heating company”.
They are also an approved training centre for heating professionals, and emphasise their in-house, fully trained team (rather than subcontractors).
The brief
The Glow Group’s marketing agency, Novus, commissioned me to produce a bank of professional and authentic photographs to represent their team, their operations and their brand.
Their objectives included:
- individual headshots of key team members (installation, service, training staff) that convey expertise and approachability
- behind-the-scenes (BTS) shots of the team in action (on-site, training centre, office) to show the human element behind the heating business
- imagery that could be used across their website, blog posts (insights & resources), LinkedIn and social media
- visuals to support their website, marketing materials, social media and training programme promotion
- a fresh look that matches their expanding business and reputation for quality, reliability and trust
The shoot
The session was scheduled at their premises in Lincolnshire (Leafbridge Business Park) and involved both indoor and outdoor locations.
The two main focuses of the shoot was to capture team photos and shots of a heat pump training session:
Team photos
The last thing people in the trade industry tend to want, is being dragged in front of a camera for their team headshot. So to make them feel as relaxed as possible, I asked them to sit in, or stand by their work van. I told them a few jokes and they loosened up in no time.
Training session images
In line with The Glow Group’s strategy to be the best heat pump training provider in the country, they wanted a collection of images they could use to promote their offering. So I hung around in the background during their desk-based and practical sessions.
The result
The Glow Group came away with over 160 images which included:
- individual headshots
- images of the entire team together
- a comprehensive library of operational and working shots, showing the team actively engaged in installations, servicing and training
They’re predominantly using their images on their:
The Glow Group now have imagery that matches their high-quality service offering: skilled people, genuine operations, and a brand you can trust.
