The client
Reformer Strong is a specialist Reformer Pilates studio located in Ruddington, Nottingham. Their mission: “Breathe, Move, Transform” through tailored Reformer Pilates classes designed for all levels – from beginners to seasoned practitioners.
Their ethos is not just about fitness, but strength, flexibility and overall well-being.
The brief
Threerooms commissioned me to produce a strong visual image bank that would support their brand-new website and marketing push.
The brief was to capture:
- professional, yet approachable portraits of their team members
- shots of their team in action: collaboration, creative discussion, interaction – to reflect the agency’s lively, strategic culture
- imagery that could be used across their website, blog posts (insights & resources), LinkedIn and social media
- visual consistency to match their brand tone – friendly, approachable, ambitious, and creative
The shoot
This was my first local shoot after moving to the village of Ruddington in March 2025.
Reformer Strong got in touch as they wanted suite of team and behind the scenes (BTS) visuals for their newly opened reformer Pilates studio.
They wanted their images to reflect the energy, professionalism and supportive feel of their studio.
The non-negotiables were:
- individual team headshots that can be used for multiple purposes
- instructors taking a class and working with customers
- shots of the studio and kit
- visuals of the exterior
Instructor and team photos
I captured individual headshots of each of the instructors, both in the studio and outside against a beautiful brick wall (one that is typical of the village Reformer Strong is situated). Whilst I had one instructor in front of the camera, the rest of the team were behind me entertaining the person in the spotlight (a great way to achieve the most relaxed smile).
I also captured a handful of team photos as and when the instructors became available.
In-action and environmental shots
When it comes to things like fitness classes, people like to know what to expect, what the studio is like, and who’ll be teaching them.
I captured a couple of reformer classes in action – many of these images are heavily used over on the Reformer Strong Instagram page
The result
Reformer Strong are now the proud owners of over 150 images that include:
- individual headshots
- group images of the team
- BTS photographs, showing classes in action
