Meet Gemma Wilks
As soon as I left my Digital Designer job in 2020 I realised I’d found my people – founders and entrepreneurs who can relate to the highs and lows of running a business. IYKYK!
I quickly made it my mission to help business owners feel more confident and less awkward in front of the camera.
You can be absolutely fantastic at what you do, but if your website and socials are filled with outdated headshots, stock images, or photos that don’t really feel like you, it becomes much harder for people to connect with your business.
That’s where I come in!
I’m not just a Photographer – I’m here to stop you hiding behind your logo, and give you everything you need to stand out and get noticed, with unapologetic confidence.

Hi, I'm Gemma - the face behind The People Photographer
I spend my days mooching about with a camera in one hand and my eyes searching for colourful walls, quirky window frames, hidden alleyways, and those little unexpected backdrops that make a photo instantly pop.
I’m slightly obsessed with finding places that most people would walk straight past.
But whilst I love a great backdrop, the real magic of any photo shoot is never the wall, the street, the coffee shop, or the fancy office…
…it’s the person standing in front of the camera.
And that person is usually convinced they’re awkward.
"I hate having my photo taken"
Honestly? I hear this all the time.
In fact, I’d be concerned if I didn’t.
Most business owners are not professional models – they’re accountants, coaches, therapists, consultants, bakers, designers, PTs, and service providers who would quite happily do almost anything else than stand in front of a camera.
They don’t know what to do with their hands or where to look. They think they’re going to look weird.
Totally normal.
Do these people look like they’re hating having their photo taken?
No!
My job is to make you forget you’re even on a photo shoot.
We’ll chat. We’ll walk. We’ll laugh. And I guide you every step of the way.
