What is Brand Photography?

You’ll have seen the term “Brand Photography” bounced around lots on social media – but what is it exactly? There are many definitions, but here’s my take on it:

Brand Photography is a collection of well-planned, personality-driven photos that captures the authenticity and essence of an individual. Brand Photography make it easy for people to get to know, like, and trust you, and to visualise what it's like to work with you.

A brand shoot should be part of your overall content strategy

As a business owner, being visible is crucial, and how you visually represent your business matters! It’s all about creating a great first impression, being more visible, and being remembered.

Brand Photography will capture the essence of you and your business, and what you stand for. The images captured during your brand shoot will engage and captivate your audience, making them curious about your services or products.

After working with a professional brand photographer, you’ll walk away with a bank of bespoke, high-quality, relevant, and relatable images that you can use on your website, social media platforms, and in other marketing materials, making content creation a breeze.

No more stock imagery for you, my friend!

So, back to your brand shoot experience!

From the moment you make an enquiry with me, right through to receiving your lovely new photos, it’s all about you!

Here’s a little guide detailing what to expect when booking a brand shoot with me.

1. Consultation

First thing’s first! Let’s have a little chat to decide whether we’d like to work together or not.

Not every photography will be for you, and not every client will be for me. So let’s get to know each other and see whether we vibe.

During your consultation, we will:

Consultations can be in-person, online, or over the phone.

2. Image planning

All great photos need planning.

Your one-hour interactive planning session* is all about looking at each and every element of your business, the services you provide, or the products you sell, and creating a shot list we will follow on the day of your photo shoot/s.

During your planning session we'll:

We’ll get creative, feel inspired, and rest assured we’ll get the very best out of our time together, simply because because we planned!

* Included in my Midi, Maxi, and Photography Subscription services. If you opt for my Mini Brand Shoot, you’ll plan your own images and send me a list of the images you’d like me to work from.

4. Shoot day

Yay! The day has finally arrived. It’s shoot day.

It’s ok to feel a little bit nervous – this is completely normal and natural, but remember, you’re totally ace at what you do – that’s why you’re investing in a brand shoot in the first place!

Don’t forget, we’ve already planned the photos (although I’ll freestyle on the day too) – so all that’s left to do, is for you to do your thing, and I’ll shoot away, capturing you doing what you love.

On the day of your brand shoot:

We’ll have a really fun time and I promise you’ll ease into the shoot and feel super relaxed.

5. Photo Reveal

Back at the studio, I’ll go through your images, throw out the ones I don’t think you’d appreciate, and prepare the very best selection of photos from your shoot for you to see.

You’ll be invited to your photo reveal session which will take place online, or in-person.

At this stage, your images will be unedited and fresh off the camera. They’ll also be low-resolution so that your gallery loads as quickly as possible.

6. Final Images

This is where I perfect and lightly retouch the photos you’ve chosen, and hand them over.

My other half always says I look like a Cheshire Cat when I’m editing images. He says I smile from ear-to-ear and look like I’m having a blast (which I am).

Light retouching includes:

Your images will be uploaded to your online gallery as high-resolution JPGs and you’ll be invited to download them.

7. Enjoy your new images

When you receive your images, please download them and save them somewhere safe and secure (two places ideally).

And enjoy!

Enjoy having a collection of truly unique images that will help you to:
